We sell full or partial room treatment systems, not individual units.
Do you want to better understand how to predict the results of those systems? In this week's article, I will give you a non exhaustive guide through some data of room treatments.
If you want more, you can ask us to send you a data dump; we have data from hundreds of rooms and we love to share and educate.
Firstly, let's look at some coefficient graphs.
So, first one of our legacy designs, the King Kong Bass Trap, 2024 version.
And below is the HONEY BADGER, a 2024 design to make the King Kong quality results cheaper and fight against the inflation we were experiencing at the time...
But coefficient graphs can be misleading, right? And most companies are flat out lying about the effectiveness of their units.
Do you understand how those graphs translate into full room treatments? Lets look at how these things actually impact rooms when added in quantity
When you look at this image, what’s the first thing you see?
This is what I notice first:
A wall of problematic resonances. ringing and reverberation across the frequency spectrum. making it very difficult to produce mixes that translate well.
We can visually see the low frequency resonances reduce in amplitude over time:
Why have we chosen these settings?
Why we are showing 40 - 1000 hz = this is the most crucial and problematic area to get right. success here replicates up the spectrum.
Let's look at the same data a different way. Here's how that translates to a spectogram:

Pretty crazy results, without any special tuning, just the standard Kiss Your Ears approach of the basic steps, with a 25 m2 room and only 3500 EUR spent! Every single mixdown will now be exponentially faster to finish. No more fighting against audio illusions.
Not to mention how good the room looks now!
We provide full room treatment solutions that transform rubbish unworkable spaces into high end studio environments. The aesthetic improvement is just a bonus.
Okay, lets look at some other rooms....
Here's a 20 m2 room after 16 x King Kong X Bass Traps, 2023 model, with "no install system" aka building walls from the units stacked on each other rather than installed into the existing structure of the room.

Game changer results. Everything that made the room unworkable was resolved with the basic formula we work with, and the Stage 1 solution was enough for the client.
It only took a 2,500 EUR investment, 3 weeks waiting time and 1.5 hours installation session to get this result. BOOM, Every future mixdown completed in 25% of the time previously needed!
Cool huh? Well, it can get even tighter... lets explore...

Insane right? Everything was ringing out way past the 300ms "problem" threshold and now it's all tucked nearly around 115ms!
Okay, so lets check another out...

They always look this terrible before we start. Your studio probably does too.

They always look this good when we are finished!
This one was actually one of my personal studios a couple of years ago. I go through studios like other people go through outfits! I took the measurements on different days and did not normalise the results, so ignore the gain stage/ amplitude issue.
Most producers don't even realise these results are possible, let alone easy to achieve with simplified systems.
Get in touch with us and tell us about your situation if you want an offer for transorfming your sacred space into a high end professional music production environment!
In the mean time, here is more data so you can learn from the trend... showing both installed systems, and "no install" systems, and detailing the approximate formula to use to achieve similar results.
